Birmingham Charity Catering and a Bordesley Park Wedding
It was another busy weekend for the Big Slice team, with two very different events: a pay-as-you-go charity event in Birmingham on Saturday, followed by evening wedding catering for 100 guests at Bordesley Park on Sunday.
From serving jumbo pizza slices at a relaxed public event to providing our Limited Service at a wedding, the weekend showed how our mobile pizza catering can be adapted to suit different venues, guest numbers and occasions.
Saturday 10 October: charity event at Hayes Bar & Cafe, Birmingham
On Saturday, we travelled to Hayes Bar & Cafe in Birmingham for a charity event, where we served our freshly stone-baked pizzas as generous jumbo slices.
Our pay-as-you-go format worked perfectly for the occasion. Guests could choose and pay for the slices they wanted while enjoying freshly prepared pizza, without the event host needing to arrange a prepaid buffet for everyone.
This style of mobile catering is a great option for charity events, community gatherings, pub pop-ups, open days and public events. It gives guests flexibility, creates a lively food experience and allows the organiser to add quality catering without committing to a traditional per-head package.

Sunday 11 October: evening wedding catering at Bordesley Park
On Sunday evening, we headed to Bordesley Park in Worcestershire to cater for a wedding with 100 guests.
The couple chose our Limited Service, which is ideal for weddings where a set number of pizzas or portions is preferred. It provides a straightforward and controlled catering option while still giving guests the experience of freshly stone-baked pizza prepared and served at the venue.
Pizza is particularly well suited to evening wedding food. After the formal meal, speeches and celebrations, guests are often ready for something hot, relaxed and easy to enjoy. Our team takes care of the preparation and service, allowing the couple and their guests to carry on celebrating.
Whether the wedding is held at a country venue, barn, marquee or private property, we can tailor the service to the setting and expected guest numbers. We also cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal requirements when these are confirmed before the event.
